The White Stripes would like to announce that today, February 2nd, 2011, their band has officially ended and will make no further new recordings or perform live.
The reason is not due to artistic differences or lack of wanting to continue, nor any health issues as both Meg and Jack are feeling fine and in good health.
It is for a myriad of reasons, but mostly to preserve What is beautiful and special about the band and have it stay that way.
Meg and Jack want to thank every one of their fans and admirers for the incredible support they have given throughout the 13 plus years of the White Stripes’ intense and incredible career.

This is part of Jack and Meg's farewell to fans. That night when I read this I felt so sad but then I thought they did the best. They have 6 great albums and perfect career. They just leave this at the top of their career. No one can act like that because of egos, money or love of fame. They were so unique and they will always be. Like they said to us we can do whatever we want with it. As a White Stripes fan I can listen to them 30 years from now on, really. They officially ended but good music never ends.

Açıkçası bu vedayı okuduğumda çok üzüldüm çünkü The White Stripes benim en sevdiğim gruplar arasındadır. Daha önceki postlarımda da bunu sürekli söylemişimdir. The White Stripes formed in 1997 in Detroit by Jack and Meg White. They were married in 1996 and divorced in 2000 but continue to make music together. After their 3rd studio album White Blood Cells they go beyond Detroit garage band and had awesome success in worldwide. Because of their soulful music, Jack's great talent and musical genius they earned many awards and had loyal fans. Jack influenced by blues and it makes his rock'n'roll music very touchy. They have dancefloor songs but I think they always good at ballads. Jack literally lives songs that he played and Meg always did her best at drums. Their live performances should be watch as a lesson for beginners and no doubt they'll always remembered as greatest rock bands of history.
